T.G.F.F.

Thank Goodness For Fridays. Friday nights are my absolute favorite night to stay in. After the long work week of constantly being on the go, I like to have a night where I can hang out, relax, and do whatever I want. The minute 5 o'clock hit, I was out the door and headed to the grocery store for some dinner (tacos were requested) and to pickup a movie from my favorite invention ever, Redbox. Dinner was on the table about an hour and a half later and was super yummy. You really can't go wrong with tacos. Taco shells + protein of choice (seasoned with taco seasoning of course) + any and all toppings you wish = one delicious meal. In my attempt to eat a little less carbs this week, I served it with a side of black beans, corn, tomatoes, and avocado. It was great!

After dinner, and before I started my movie pick (we'll get to that in a second), I asked the boyfriend if he'd be interested in grabbing some Froyo with me, my treat. I had been so good this week in the healthy eating department that I thought I deserved some kind of reward (I mean that's what makes it all worth it, right?). And since I had passed by a brand new Frozen Yogurt shop on my way to the grocery store, I was really craving it. Froyo is one of my absolute favorite treats, especially the places like this one where it is self serve, and you get to choose from a large variety of flavors and mix and match both your flavors and your toppings. That's my kind of heaven. It took a little bit of convincing and then we were off.

I decided to get a little bit of the cake batter flavor and a little bit of cookies and cream, topped with a few sprinkles and some chopped up butterfinger, it definitely hit the spot. The boyfriend went with the coconut flavor and he really enjoyed it as well. This is one of those places where they weigh your cup and charge you by the ounce, so while it is a bit more pricey than our usual (terrible for you go-to) McDonalds soft serve, it is totally worth it. So if you are in the River North area and are in the mood for Froyo (that is not Pinkberry), give this new place a try.

After I filled up my cup, we walked back home and I got comfy on the couch to watch my movie. I went with How Do You Know with Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd, and Jack Nicholson.

Being that I am a big Reese Witherspoon, I did enjoy this movie. Parts of it were a little weird, and the ending sort of just ended (if you know what I mean, I hate when that happens), but other than that I thought it was a cute romantic comedy. That about wraps up my Friday night in. It was lovely. As for today, I was intending to catch a glimpse of the Air & Water Show here in Chicago, but the weather is looking a bit rough. A storm is definitely rolling in, so i'm not so sure it's going to happen. Plan #2 is to work on the blog redesign (if you haven't stopped by and given your feedback already, please do). At least one of my two plans is going to happen for sure. I hope you have a fabulous Saturday!

I like the side dish to your tacos! I make tacos/fajitas at least once a week so that would be the perfect addition.
